“I am delighted to support the BABTAC inaugural Dermalogica Rising Star Award, as a mentor for the winner. As a mentor, I believe in nurturing and guiding these rising stars, sharing my knowledge and experience to help them reach their full potential. Together, we can inspire and empower the next generation of beauty industry leaders.”

Diane Hey is the Founder & CEO Armonia Health and Wellbeing, as well as a practitioner, speaker, author, technical advisor and educator. She has more than 35 years’ experience in the spa and wellbeing industries.

Starting her career as a therapist in 1987, Hey has become known as a ‘go to’ industry expert, specialising in the provision of apprenticeships and professional industry training to the spa, beauty, wellbeing and aesthetics industries.

Diane launched Armonia Health and Wellbeing – incorporating an Ofsted-rated, Government-approved training academy and provider of specialist apprenticeships – in 2000. She has spent more than 25 years as a dual professional, championing the benefits of employment-ready education and training.

To date, she has collaborated on innumerate Government initiatives to raise and maintain standards for learners, apprentices and employers, working to bridge the gap between education and employment. As a technical advisor she works with all four National educational regulators and holds a number of Chair and advisory roles with all stakeholders and UK nations, specialising in standard setting. These roles include chairing the Beauty Professional Trailblazer Apprenticeship Steering Group (Ifate), being a member and ambassador for the Department of Education’s ‘T level’ panel and chairing educational reform groups, including the industry group for the introduction of the proposed licencing of non-surgical cosmetic procedures. She is also a Trustee for the Standards Authority for standards in cancer care (SATCC Trustee).

Diane continues to work on the new suite of developments and education reforms with Government while maintaining roles as a long-standing BABTAC Board member and chair of the National Occupational Standards (Habia) reviews for the sector. She holds numerous ambassadorial roles promoting careers and education within the sector and is now channelling her extensive experience into spearheading the development of fit-for-purpose of spa apprenticeships. In September 2023, Diane was awarded the Industry Beyond Award in recognition of her contribution to apprenticeships.

Diane is committed to raising standards for those entering and progressing in the wellness sector via regulated educational pathways. She truly understands employers’ needs to access quality education and training for their employees, and strives to create talent pipelines and sustainable career pathways that help employees develop world-class skills.
